  • Lumberjack

A friend of mine is in the lumber business and keeps me supplied in basswood for carving.
So, I just finished carving this lumberjack as a surprise for him.
Trying to think of a name, maybe Pierre of the North woods.

He should be very pleased to receive such a fine wood carving.

Great job on that fellow ...... my guess is you won't have to buy any basswood for awhile

I'd suggest Paul Bunyan but then you'd have to carve a Blue Ox to go along with him!

I have an arborist buddy who may be about to 'pop the question' to his GF soon. Been thinking of a lumberjack gift- I'll have to make sure I use a different color scheme if it happens! :-)

Lovely carving. Well done. I like this little guy.

If you have the time, I wonder at the size of this figure. And maybe a few words on how you did the shirt.

                  Thanks for the interest.
I used a block of basswood 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 4 3/4" as for the lines in the shirt I used an extra fine tip Sharpe.

Excellent carving! The pen lines on the shirt really add to it. as do the cuts on the pants, indicating folds, etc. Really well done!
