  • Headed to the wood lot...

    This fellow and his dog have been laying around in the basement all winter soaking up the heat and not doing much ( 'cept a bit of carving and listening to Irish country music ). So he figures it's time to get out and start cutting next winters wood , before fishing season opens ..

    Soggy, this carving is wonderful… Big smile here! Are you the fellow who did the flannel shirt painting tutorial on True North Woodcarvers YouTube channel? If so, I really enjoyed that video and your explanation de-mystified painting a pattern like that.

      Very, very nice! Great carving, clean cuts and an excellent paint job! Now is that songs from the country Ireland that you're listening to or Irish Country songs! How about an example? I ask because I rather enjoy listening to U.S. Civil War era Irish ballads.

        Yes that was me,..... I learned that technique from Mike Pounders who frequents this forum from time to time.

            Hi Eddy,... thanks for the comments. The station I listen to is mainly Irish folk music with a bit of country music thrown in. No annoying advertisements, news or weather reports, just 24/7 music. I listen on a Samsung tablet that I leave in my carving room.

            Try it you'll probably like it...

              LOL, I never have a single cut as clean as all your cuts!

              You've probably said before, but how tall are your guys?

                    Love it Soggy, Looks like your little dog may have found more than he bargained for.
                    If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

                              Soggy went out in the woods one day.
                              Together with his little dog.

                              The day was clear, but soon did appear
                              a terrible bit of fog.

                              Well, that's no surprise, because where Soggy lives;
                              the ocean is not far away.

                              But just to be safe, while the fog cleared up,
                              he had lunch at a nearby cafe.
