This is a Gerald Sears rough out that I got last October. I had hoped to carve with Gerald, but at least I got this rough out from him! Lots of challenging deep cuts on this guy... I got to use a variety of knives and skews to get some of the areas as deep as i wanted. He was fun to carve! I posted a tutorial on his paint job under that forum, if you want to see the before-after. Thanks for looking! ps: he's for sale on my website http://mikepounders.weebly.com/store...27_Man%22.html You might check it out, even i you're not interested in buying. It lets you zoom over the pictures and get some real closeup views of the carving. Kinda neat!

Re: "Ramblin' Man"
Mike, You did the rough-out proud. Thanks you for the post on painting, I think it should be a stickie or what ever it that it is called when a good thread is kept up on top.
I got a couple of tips (RT K & RT S) ordered for the Colwood. anxious to try the burning tip for highlighting. . . JoeB. . .JoeB

Re: "Ramblin' Man"
It looks good Mike. I attended The Branson seminar this summer and spent two days with Gerald on this same rough out. It is a fun one to do and Gerald is very enjoyable to learn from. It didn't make sense to me but I was in a group of three guys and we had Gerald all to ourselves both days. It was great to get that kind of one on one time with him. I'm almost done but came back to a bunch of family health issues and had to set it aside. Anyway I really enjoyed your tutorial on this carving and the painting ideas were appreciated. Thanks, Lar
