  • It's Not Just For Shows Anymore

Footprints sandal uncompleted.JPGFootprints unfinished no flash.JPG All of us can become weary when setting up for craft or art shows and have attendees visit our table and go on and go on about how wonderful our work is but not buying anything. Or, saying," that is just wonderful and I will be back with my husband/wife. It is just what we have been looking for, etc, etc.....
Here is another opportunity that some of you may want to check out. Recently a store owner saw my carvings in a folk art museum/gallery and contacted me to say that he wanted to have me carve some things for a commercial he was going to put together for his store. He wanted the carvings carved in such a way that they could be computer animated. The idea was that the commercial would show a woodcarver (the owner) carving a Birkenstock sandal and the carvings would be animated to show him in the progress. I felt that this was a real opportunity to showcase my carvings and provide some business for myself as well. The carvings aren't all finished yet, but here is some of them that I have almost ready for paint etc.
