      From reference images and some reading it seems that ivory does not have the variations in colour and dark dots and markings that the tusks appear to have. It also seems fairly unlikely that ivory would be used on something like this (as far as I can tell).

          I haven't yet, most guides I read said the hot needle test wasn't worth doing because it's potentially destructive and there are better ways to figure it out. Is it actually worth doing?
