  • Any Interest?

I was wondering if there is any interest in me posting a picture step by step of how I carve one of my small bears. There are a bunch of pics that go to it, I'm thinking around 40 . Because of the number and resizing of the pic I don't want to waste time or bore people if no interest. I don't know how much they would help or not, and the quality of the pics are just OK. I took the pics as I carved with my cell phone. So... if there is interest and it's OK with the with the forum, I would be happy to do so. Shown is pic#1, #15 and #41 just a sample of what they will look like.

If the forty-one photos are accessible through a link, that might be the way to make them available to those interested. Otherwise, post them as a series of thumbnails. We can enlarge the ones of interest. One of the indications of interest is the number of views you get to this topic. My opinion: Go for it!

      Hi Bob
I am not a chain saw carver but have done few bigger pieces with a multitool, a reciprocating chisel , a reciprocating saw, some palm chisels and a hand axe. I would like to see how you do it, go for it

Wow Bob buddy. While I wouldn't be using the pics for reference, I certainly would be VERY interested in seeing a BEAR carved out of a regular stump of wood.

Bob, I think every single member here on the forum would be interested in seeing the process that someone uses to achieve their carvings no matter the tools used. I may not carve with a chainsaw, but I have a great interest in them as I made my living repairing, sharpening and tuning them until I recently retired.
            let's see what you've got.

Go for it, Bob! You can post them 3-5 at a time, just as you did the first 3 above and we can expand and view them easily. Just keep adding them to the same thread so they'll all be together.

Thanks, Bob, I for one am interested. While I do no power carving at all, I always like to see other carvers' work, especially the step-by-step pics.

Sounds good to me Bob. Never saw a bear carving tutorial that I haven't gotten something from and since bears is about all I carve I'm sitting here waiting at the edge of my seat!
