Great scene Tinwood! I agree with Joe, you got that fellows pose just right. Looks like he's just had a nice can of beans, some cheap wine and now he's settling in for the night.......... life don't get much better than that....

Hi Tinwood, I think you found your Style of Carving , that is one Fine piece of work. Flat Plane Carving is out of the Question for me , Can't Visualize the Cuts , but you sure did. Merle
Thank you all for the kind words. Tom, I agonized over that crazy leg for days. I was almost afraid to touch the thing with my knife for fear of messing it up. Harold has some great ideas in that book but I'm too much interested in trying a little of this and a little of that just to see if I can do it as a challenge. About the only thing I shy away from is chip carving. Lordy, too much patience for my liking. I do like the flat plane work, Gene Messer sure is an inspiration for peaking peoples interest in that style. Got some other things to try so don't know if I'll be back to flat plane again for a bit. Depends if something catches my eye or not. Again, thanks all.
You did an awesome job getting all the body parts in the right postion from the crossed leg, even the arms are in the right position! ...to the belly on the ground. Great job ....it is a very nice carving.
