  • Small Trucker on Truckers' Caravan to Ottawa

    In honor of those Canadian and American Truckers travelling to Ottawa this week:
    I've carved a small 'Trucker' who is now on his way.
    Driving his rig to Ottawa, without any pay.

    He looks quite determined, although fashioned from wood.
    He'll get the job done, as all 'Truckers' should.

    I'll see him in a few days, when his rig hits the city.
    His speech will be ready; it's unlikely to be pretty.

      Why are we honoring those who choose not to get vaccinated?

                    For those Scots who missed Hogmanay (New Years Eve) and Robbie Burn's birthday (Jan 25, 1759), here is a rhyme and picture that will cheer you up on this cold January day. First the rhyme; then the picture:

                    * * * * *

                    On the day before New Years, the Scots have a do.
                    Everyone dances; if they don't have the flu.

                    They call it Hogmanay; goodness knows why.
                    One of their funny words, another is 'aye'.

                    Be sure to participate; have a 'mice' day.
                    Ken intends to do this; and so does ol' Ray.

                    Bring in the new year; which we hope will be great.
                    If we're lucky, that'll be our fate.
