  • On Time, Barely

took a minute to think about whether to post here or in Holiday- Holiday is past, and they are still FP, so here they are- my Christmas whittlings for my girls, varnish barely dry by Christmas morning, (and one cut still bleeding....)

It's always a good time to post Christmas-related projects in this category. Those are some sweet looking glass stems. What a neat idea. Thanks for sharing.

                        Re: On Time, Barely

Doc, sorry you object to my whittlings. I admit, I take FP to the edge. I don't whittle like Gene, or Harley, I don't whittle other peoples patterns, I don't whittle Scandinavian characters.

I do use only one knife (admittedly not a typical belt knife), no gouges no sanding. Legs are faceted, joints vee cut. Detail is left to your imagination. I try to make as few cuts as possible to get the image in my mind into your mind. I love that part of FP. I am inordinately happy with the cat's front legs, no vee cut between them but obviously still two distinct front legs.

I apologize if I offended you. Perhaps you can post some of your FP to help me improve?

Those are really cool flat plane carvings! I like that cat too. A bigger version of him standing alone would be neat.
