  • Woodcarving with Rick Butz

Hello everyone. I hope your day is well. I had a question. I have just picked up woodcarving again. I did some when I was younger then due to career and other stuff it kinda got put to the back. I am now doing again and enjoying every minute .I did have a question I used to watch Woodcarving with Rick Butz and I have found some episodes to watch. I really want the episode that he carves the prospector and interviews Harold Enlow .Does anyone have any idea where I might find that epsiode .I cannot find it anywhere .

First, welcome. I assume you have done searches via Google? I noticed Amazon has a lot of his books also. You could go to the PBS website and buy them there...maybe?

Usually, the PBS will sell videos of shows they air. I'm not familiar with Rick Butz, but did poke around the web a bit and he does seem to have a good reputation. I like Gene Messer, Doug Linker, and Sharonmyart (small carvings). Will have to check some of Rick's videos out on Youtube. Thanks for the tip.

There is a search function on the forum and it covers just about everything...if not, post a question here. A fantastic group of members with a wealth of information.

                  Here's a few leads:
Maybe send him a message on Facebook?:
                  https://www.facebook.com/RickButzWoodcarving/

                  or his website:
                  http://www.rickbutzwoodcarving.com

Could you use the Adirondack Lumberjack or Adirondack guide, or the Old World St. Nicholas?

There's also the Adirondack Hermit in his book How to Carve Wood.

Thanks, Just Carving, for the links and some look fine. Sadly I never heard or watched him...part of my recluse living I guess.

Good morning everyone. I hope all of you are having a great day. I heard back from Rick Butz. SUPER NICE guy. The good news is he may be working on some new youtube videos teaching carving. He is also working on making all of his PBS show episodes avaliable to watch. This is good news. He really is a very nice person.
