  • Eddy-Smiles has surfaced!

    Sorry I haven't commented over the last month. It wasn't by choice I assure you. I was out in the back yard trying to help my wife mow the dog's area when I tripped over a 2-1/2' in diameter raised planter. Flying over the planter I landed hard on my right shoulder which resulted in a clean break of the right Humeous. I can assure you it was anything but humorous. Off to the emergency room and then two days later to a specialist who put me in a sling which I'm still wearing and will do so for most likely at least another three to four weeks. Carving has been delayed until it's completely healed or even possibly I get some P.T. Today has basically been the first day back on line except for checking emails. I've got the keyboard in my lap but it's still an effort to type. But at least the pain level is down to a manageable level. Just counting the days until I can pick up a knife again. My best to all.

        Hang in there Eddy! Ya can't carve by hand, but ya can't sit back relax, close your eyes, and carve with your mind. Amazing what masterpieces I can create when I don't use my hands. Heal quickly!

          Sorry to hear this Eddy , I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to be unable to carve . Maybe now some nurses will carve bears for you instead of the other way round.
          Get well soon;

            Dang, Eddy, we have to be more careful. I've taken my share of trips and falls and understand your predicament. Wishes for healing well and getting back to carving.

                          Hang in there, Eddy - think positive thoughts and make lots of sketches of things to carve someday.

                            I'll bet if it hadn't hurt so much you would look around to see if anyone saw your splendid dive. Hope it heals rapidly and well, with no follow-up problems.

                              Hi Eddy
                              What rotten bad luck mate. I hope you mend ok and can get backon the tools in the not too distant future. If you cant carve and your good hand is ok maybe you could do a bit of pyrography to keep the enthusiasm flowing. Just a thought.

                              I have had to take a break from carving to allow carpel tunnel issues to settle doyn . Got an appointment at the hostipal next week to get it checked out and hopefuly fixed. Have been doing pyrography as that I can do with the one hand.

                              Take it easy buddy and get well soon !!!
