RSS Feed?

Am I missing something important by not knowing how to use this?
What is the "View this forum's RSS feed." used for?
I'm referring to the orange icon found in the forums directory.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I've never tried it. I did see when I clicked on the orange icon that I need to go to the App Store and get an RSS App. Do you have one of those installed already?

I installed 'Rss feed reader' to my chrome extensions and will see if it works.
