  • Why ??????

Why is it that when you drop something on the Floor no matter what the Size is it Flies 6 to 8 Ft. , Under the Bench , Behind the Bench Leg , Over and Under Something , Into the Garbage Can , Anywhere but where it First Lands.
I dropped my Ear Piece, which is very lite , it flew about 2 Ft. back under my Bench trying to get under something . It is Clear Plastic and with the Help of my Flashlight I saw a Reflection in the Saw Dust and found it , Luck was with me today . I have been Wondering about this for years and today before I Wonder to Far I decided to Spread my Wonder to you Wonderful People . Does this only Happen to me or is a Natural thing??? Merle

Oh, yea happens to me a lot...I am on the cement, nose on the ground digging through wood chips, sawdust ...if I find it that is. Most of the time it disappeared into thin air, never to be seen again. Then the real fun begins as trying to stand up again. I have had things shoot straight across the room.

The same reason the snow drift is always in front of the garage door no matter which way the garage faces and the valve stem is always at the bottom of the tire you want to air. Just a natural irritating phenomena.

Happens to me also (both things...flying away...and trying to get up )
While making the zebra of my avatar, I had to paint every single piece...lost the smallest above the snout...could not find it...made a new piece (didnot fix so precisely as the former, but finished the animal, only I know it is not the original). Last week (after over a year) I cleaned up before winter and....found the small piece in an open shelf, 30 cm above the floor . Cannot explain how it got overthere....

Happens all the time, Merle. I wear a leather shop apron when I'm in front of the workbench; have had small pieces drop into the apron where I can retrieve them - maybe 1/4 of the time. Rest of the time, could be anywhere in the garage - usually inside something or behind something or under something...

Wow! I’m sitting hear and can’t even remember ever having dropped something much less it rolling and inconvenient place. But my memory isn’t what it used to be…. then you finish it of with spray on satin poly. Hope that answers your questions.

Here's one. The globe on the bathroom light (the section with the tub and stool- the vanity is in a different section, no door, though) spontaneously shattered one morning. I cleaned up via broom and vacuum, and replaced the globe. Weeks later the wife put on some sandals, and got a glass shard in her foot! In order for that shard to get there, it had to ricochet off the door frame and bounce over 12 feet away, and up onto the sandal. That's just crazy, but stuff happens.

Glad to hear that I am not the only one Merle. I finally had to put a shield on the bottom of my workbench to keep everything from bouncing under there. Murphy’s law I guess.
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

The air in my carving area is BLUE most of the time! My eyesight has gotten bad, with almost no depth perception. So when I reach for something, I either knock it over or off. Also don't know what is going on with my hand, but if I don't concentrate on hanging on to something, down it goes. As far as leaning over or looking up, ha. got one of those grabber sticks and wore one set already.

I can't really ***** though, I think I've out-used my warranty & running grace time Oops what was that I heard hit the floor?

That happens so often when working on antique clocks that clocksmiths kneeling on the floor searching is commonly called "working on the big bench."
