Hey there,
we just held our first meeting of as many of the local carving clubs as we could find. It seems that there are quite a few but they don\'t advertise. We ended up with 24 folks in attendance from 5 clubs. I thought we would be lucky to get half that.
Our first meeting was just a meet and greet out in Anthem. Everyone was encouraged to bring some of their work to show. We filled several tables with all sorts of carvings and wood burnings. There are some talented folks out here.
We are going to try to hold another of these group sessions in about three months. This will be a carving session. Hopefully I can talk a few folks into doing some demonstrations.
If there are any other carving groups in the Las Vegas area who would like to come, please send me a PM with your contact info. I\'ve heard about a group in Sun City and another in North Las Vegas. I don\'t have contacts for either of these. There is no cost involved.
