Getting a dusty look

Hey there.
I\'m painting a rodeo cowboy. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve a dusty look on his clothing? I\'m using acrylics and don\'t have an air brush. My first thought is dry brushing the figure with a stiff brush.

Hi there! I dry brush but also sand some off after paint has dried for that old dusty aged look.

What grit are you using? I\'ve never tried that.

I use a fine grit sanding sponge, it\'s like 120 grit or wet dry sand papers.
