  • Knife Scabbard

I recently finished putting together a scabbard for a knife I made. The blade was purchased from Ragweed Forge and the handle is an elk antler I found while doing an internship out west last summer and the scabbard is made out of a Nargusta burl. I have been trying to think of a way of how I could go about adding some leather or something so I could attach the scabbard to a belt, but I have been hitting a wall. Does anyone have any recommendations?

With the long handle you have, I believe your going to have to use a tie down for the bottom of your scabbard. for the top you might have to jerry-rig some type of clip that you epoxy into the wood, that would hock on to your belt. and the part that clip on to the belt, should be fairly wide to help keep your knife at the angle your would want.

a belt loop.. made of leather could be a trifle wider than a typical belt loop. fasten with glue top and bottom , would probably work. to the surface section of the scabbord, not off the top as a hanging loop....i think, off the top and the knife would pinwheel. on the scabbord itself the width of the loop should keep it from rolling .
