These two brought a smile to my face. I'll have to try a couple of your mixtures and see what I think of the results.

Thanks for the info, I'm always fooling around trying to get a skin color I like. The carvings are real GRINNERS

Santa busts
Here are a couple of Santas I have finished...I am backlogged on painting! Since my back surgery, I have CARVED up a storm! I am backlogged about 30 carvings that need paint, so I worked on these 2 guys last week.
They are based on Arlene's pattern from the Carverswoodshop.
The red is a mix of Christmas Red and Black Cherry. Skin is 1/2 Medium Flesh, and 1/2 Regular Flesh tone. I didn't want Snow White against Snow White for the trim and beard, so I just went with Snow White for the trim and tassle.
The beard is a mix of Snow White/Heritage White, and a couple of drops of Granite Gray. Made a very nice off white beard.
To finish, I put them in BLO, and then a final coat of Howard's Feed 'N Wax.
Hope you enjoy, and sorry for the quality of the pics! You do not have permission to view this gallery.
