Thanks, everyone! Rod, love your prose, man!

I didn't quite like how the snowflakes turned out, so I landed here at work early and started over on it...(am working at our board table over the lunch hour!)...sanded off the flakes, and am only putting 4 on...figure less is more!

A well known banker in town. He's now on a roll.
His Santa was whittled from a measuring pole.

TBox is carving Santas for some cash on the side.
It's part of his retirement for which he has applied.

It's only nine years before he gets his gold watch.
That's quite a few Santa's he'll have to carve and not botch.

started a topic Santa by the inch finished!!!

    Santa by the inch finished!!!

Did this one on commission...just finished painting it about 10 minutes ago. This is the first one I did on the square yardstick on Bob K's design.

Beard is 1/2 snow white, 1/2 vintage white, with one drop of granite gray. Trim is snow white. Gloves are straight, un-thinned black. Under robe is avocado, and snow flakes are snow white. Over robe is 1/2 Santa red and 1/2 black cherry. All colors thinned with matte acrylic medium. Nose is 1/2 skin tone and 1/2 medium flesh.

I think he turned out cool! I will put the BLO mixture on him tomorrow followed by Howard's Feed N Wax and I can deliver him on Friday!

    Hope you all enjoy!
