  • 1st and probably the last Santa for 2018

11" x 21/2 " x 21/4 " , Acrylic Paint ,Watco Dark Wax , I don't know the kind of Wood. I thought Cherry or Mahogany , it leaves a Bitter taste in your Mouth and Lips when Sanding and Carving. Had a Fun experience while Spraying on the Poly U. It slipped off my Hand and fell on the Floor into some Saw Dust , talk about Fuzzies , Ha,Ha. Problem solved by just wiping him down with a Clean Cloth after saying a few unmentioned words. He will be added to our collections of Christmas Decorations. Did a few different ways to carve this Guy. Eyes and Nose Shaping and Detailing. Today I'll clean a Layer of Dust from my shop and then do some Wood Burning . Be nice to work in a Clean place. Merry Christmas . Merle IMG_0001.JPGIMG_0005.JPGIMG_0004.JPG

Hi 807, was lucky got all the Fuzzies wiped off before the Poly U dried . Any idea of the kind of Wood it is? Just used the Band Saw and that stirred up the Dust and now have the Bitter tast in my Mouth. Got to Clean it up before I do any more Sawing. Thanks for your nice Words. Merle

Without being there it is nearly impossible for me to say. However, the grain does have a walnut/mahogany look to it.

Merle, He is a great looking Santa. Lucky you are so quick with getting rid of those fuzzies. Although a fuzzy beard would be ok.

          Merry Christmas, Tom
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

Hi 807 , It's not Walnut , does Mahogany give off a Bitter Taste ? Sure is a Ugly taste. Merle

I don't think mahogany has a bitter taste and can't really think of a wood that does...

I would suggest washing your mouth out with some sort of holiday grog, Just to get rid of the taste the wood has left smiley

Oh the carving is great, a pleasant addition to your collection for sure, Merry Christ to you Merle
