  • Stylized Santa

Here is my take on a Santa pattern I got from Arlene at Carverswoodshop. He is kind of a stylized fella, with a 'windy beard'. He is 5 3/4" tall.

The red of his suit is 1/2 Bright Red, 1/2 Alzarin Crimson. His trim is Snow White, and his beard is 1/2 Snow White, 1/2 Vintage White with a small drop of Granite Gray. 'Boots' are just solid black. All paints are thinned with matte acrylic medium.

The eye is Oyster white, iris is Light Blue, with a Black pupil and a dot of Snow White.

Just because Christmas is gone, I still carve Santas and Snowmen all year!

    Hope you all enjoy!

Great adaptation of Arlene's pattern ,.... I like the "wind swept" beard.
Never too early to carve Santa's, I carve Christmas ornaments the year round and never seem to have enough.

Nice work and like the "wind blown" look of the beard and hat.

I guess it's just fashion, or perhaps it's a quirk!
To carve little Santa, with him in a skirt.

Your paint job is impressive. Your carving is droll.
I'm sure Santa will reward you with a large piece of coal.

I wonder about Santa? 'Cause I asked for a knife.
Santa didn't deliver. But I got the knife from my wife.

I like the carving. Nice detail and painting. My only complaint is the same as when I see real people with hair over their eyes. I just want to ask how that doesn't drive them crazy! Again, really nice work.

Very nicely done! Santa needs a cookie though. He's lost some weight!
