my first two santas

Ive never done a santa before, this week our club president brought in some wood and a class on carving a santa , I followed his pair.JPG lead for the first one and modified my second one, these are my first 2 Santa and thanks to Harold Mohr for coming up with the idea for us.

Both are nicely done, Denny but I am partial to the one you did because of the tassel.

Well Denny, I just wish that my first Santa's had been half that good. I agree with Bill, I like the one on the right best, but they are both fine Santa's.

thanks. i never could talk myself into doing santas. until Harold started us on them. as i figured, now i rather like doing a santa. that is also why i made my second one different than my first, and the third etc etc will each try to be slightly or more, different than the rest. Now i am having fun with them and it is good practice for nose and eyes carving.

Both Santas are nice, but I like the one on the left best. Something about his expression, makes him seem wise.
