  • WCI Holiday Project finished.

    I found this in project in WCI's Handcarved Holiday Gifts 39 Projects edition, it was a project designed by Jim McGuire of a Santa holding a hershey's Kiss mounted on a candy bowl.

    Hi Mark , I think that was a good find . So much Outstanding Detailing and surely Projects the Christmas Feeling . That Dish would be hard to put away after Christmas . Merle

          Very Nice. The coloring of the skin, the nose etc, reminds me of an old book i had when i was a kid. It was about gnomes. The artist who drew them is called Rien Poortvliet a Dutch artist. The book is called. “ Leven en werken van de kabouter”. It is very nicely illustrated.

              This was from a large chunk of Swamp Ash from Louisiana, that was stained Special Walnut.

                    fantastic book about the life of gnomes and a very good source for carvinginspiration. Book is not simple to find.
