  • Newly finished Don Quixote

Hey fellow carvers, haven't been around for quite a while, but I'm glad to see familiar faces still.

Here are a few shots of my abstract(ish) version of Don Quixote.
He stands 91" at the tip of his spear, and is made of old growth cedar, iron, and alluminum sheeting.

I have not had him shot by my pro photographer so you'll have to suffer through my not so pro pictures.

All thoughts and comments welcome, as always,

    Take care,

    Russell Moline

      With all that extra "stuff" I think that's called a multi-media sculpture......whatever, it's "MULTI-COOL"!

          Wonderful sculpture.
I made a point of reading Don Quixote just a few years ago to see why so many artists were so inspired to do sculptures of him......still don't really understand, but this is yet another inspired piece.
          Thanks for showing the pictures.

I love the impressionistic style. You captured the essence of Don Quixote elegantly.

              Re: Newly finished Don Quixote

"The dream.... the impossible dream!" "It is well known, you know, that a loveless knight is like a tree without leaves, like a body without a soul!"

How could anyone with just a figment of imagination not like that statue? Now you need to carve Sancho and Dulcina!

                  Re: Newly finished Don Quixote

Very visionary! Do you have a vision for Dulcinea?

                    Re: Newly finished Don Quixote

I would find it hard to believe, that with a name like Dulcina, that any artist, not to mention any man, could not conger up a vision!
