  • Just Finished these

I just finished these and delivered these today for a fundraiser for scholarships to our hometown Catholic School. They're for a silent auction. The three shown together are holy water fonts (Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran) for the home...they're to hang on the wall by your door (stands are just for display purposes).

You're a good man Arthur and perhaps an even better carver.

Thanks to one and all! Today's the fundraiser, so we'll see how it goes. I'm always curious about what carvings will sell for. I'm found that it's not just the quality of the carving, but matching the subject matter to the prospective buyers (DUH!). Size seems to matter, too...a large, not particularly complicated carving seems to go for more than a complex, well executed smaller one. Never brings enough to justify the time and effort, so it's good we do it for the sheer pleasure of it. What's your experience?

Extremely well done, and a great idea! I used to do carvings for our church yearly event. Sometimes they went for good money other times, not so much. Seemed like it depended more on the economy.
