  • Eagle and Flag in Progress

Don't usually Paint till my Carving is finished and then do all The Painting last, but got tired Carving and decided to finish the Flag. The Advantage of doing it this way is if I Mess up the Eagle I have still a Flag. It is 8"x8"x1" in Basswood. Acrylic Paint, Poly U, and will be Antiqued with Feed-n-Wax tomorrow. Haven't decided on the Back Plaque yet . Thought someone would like to see one of my Birds in Progress. Merle

"if I Mess up the Eagle" Har Har that is a laugh! The way I paint I would have been worried about the stars and strips. So far-----great, expectations----also great

The flag is striking. Beautiful painting too.

Merle, you sure know how to do a flag. Super nice. And the eagle is looking good too.

Another beauty Merle, Is he going to be carrying the flag, or landing on it?............Tom
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

Another good one, Merle! Lots of stars to paint! I've done one Bellamy style eagle so far, about 12" wingspan, and have a larger one in my carving-to-do queue. I really like the eagles. Can't wait to see your finished piece.
