  • Jamie Fraser from Outlander series

When I'm not laying planks on the ship model, I'm whittling away on a bust my wife asked me to do. We have been watching the Netflix series "Outlander", based on the book of the same name by Diana Gabaldon, and she likes one of the main characters, Jamie Fraser, played by a Scottish actor called Sam Heughan. A handsome young lad, and should make for an interesting bust. Doing it in Butternut, it stands about 12" tall and 10" wide. It is a work in progress, but is coming right along.

Before they slip me over the standing part of the fore sheet, let them pipe: "Up Spirits" one more time.

Hey Bob. We have a lot of Bobs here. Lol
This work is very nice. Your lines are crisp and clear. The definition is tastefully done.
What a classy piece. Butternut huh?
Im in lust with butternut and must get some.
It truly is an attractive wood. It's density shows by the natural gleam it offers. Clearly you've finished it but it was obviously not carved from basswood from the first glance
Your wife must be thrilled with your rendition.
    Excellent work!
