JJF - Are the color streaks at the Padre's elbow surface marks or deep discolorations? Have you carved chestnut before?

Yes Pallin, these are natural marks.This is the first time I use chestnut.....

Coming along very nicely. I think your contemplated line change would be good...the bulk of the vestment does not translate well as far as his physique is concerned...the change would give a more natural look.
