    Cuckoo birds for cuckoo clocks

    Here are some cuckoo birds I'm working on that will have moving beaks and wings. Each bird is about 4" long 3/4" high and 1/2" wide.

    The wires are a little tricky. I use 24 ga. floral wire, shape it, heat it and then quench it to harden it. Otherwise it is too soft to insert and maintain its shape, or if you start with harder wire, it is harder to bend.

    I am working on improving my ability to make them appropriately aged to appear antique.
