  • Sea shells for bathroom decor.

My wife asked me to carve some sea shells and mount them in shadow boxes, and I finished the first one this afternoon. A Scallop shell carved in Basswood and painted. Box is 5" x 5".

Got the second one mounted today, a Sand Dollar. Many's the day I've walked the beaches on Prince Edward Island and picked up shells of all sorts. This one is carved in Basswood.

And finally, I finished the last in the series this evening, heat and all. The two sea horses are carved in Basswood and painted with acrylic. Happy wife, happy life!

I look to the left of me and see several hundred Sea Shells - Collected over 50 years ago. Need any pictures of any family / species let me know - I can or point to web sites that have them.
Martin - And those look nice indeed. A bit sanded down from beach sand but nice indeed.
Note: I have several tons most of which were live when collected for the collection. Semi-Pro grade.
