I guess Cabela's had to order the trap. The slab is going to be from cottonwood. Getting anxious to get started on a project.Good to see you posting again Dan

I think it will be Terry, already think how to get the trap mounted to the wood securely.

That must require an awful large slab of wood.

he wants me to assemble this. not much carving maybe the letters, He is going to try and get the trap from Cabelas and a friend to cut him a bark-on slab. Probably get the bark glue with Elmer school glue, give the letters a dark walnut stain, the whole thing a natural stain then a coat of Watco Exterior Wood Finish. Told him to get the darn thing welded open

Any suggestions before starting are welcomed

In the meantime, the continuing study to improve my caving, if possible
I have a great suggestion! You make the plaque and let your son mount the trap!

Those rednecks. So darned resourceful aren't they? That's a chuckle and a half right there.

Easiest way to do the letters is chip carve 'em. imho.
    Fun project.

Wonderful concept. I'll have to dig around in the camping stuff... What no teeth ? Had a friend with a Boot and leg bone (broken off and Boot and bone weathered) as a display in a roadside diner.
