  • Another new cane.

I guess I'm on a roll, another cane finished. This time staying with the wild big cat family, a male lion. The head is carved in Cherry, the spacers Ebony and Holly, with the detail burned in and painted with acrylics.

You get the placement of the eyes and the slope of the bridge of the nose just right, every time.
Careful or people will start to call you "Tripod."

You have to study your model, plenty of photographs from all angles. Have to use them cause I can't get the lions to stay still when I go to see them. LOL Knowledge of the subject is critical in carving a life like version. Thanks for the feedback.

Nicely done Bob. I like the paw print on the collar.
