Nebraska me professional? god no. this is the very first one that i try to do that is this intricate. My wife and i own a small local Arts & Handcrafts store and i have a small area in public view where i do my wood shavings... Also, i never told the chap i it was my design... it was easy for him to see that it was my work (work as in I actually carved it) (he came into the shop quite often and saw me carving it. I didn´t do any marketing... the chap just straight out made the offer. And it's not even finished yet... (now that i think about it... when i started the carving he did see the doolittle picture and knew that i took the design from it... he might have even seen me transfer the picture (not sure about this point)). But anyway i'm going to talk to him about Doolittle. As for giving Mark the €500 if i accepted the offer was because i needed it. Sometimes people forget how bad these times are, especially for those that trade in the tourism area, but i do get your point on this and also respect your opinion. I contacted Mark through his website at some point last year, because of his carvings. Still waiting on a reply from him. Maybe i should stick to Grinling Gibbons, the intelectual property on his work is gone.

Some people contacted the original artist and he/she gave permission...in far more cases than not. Might be another idea? Some take it as an honor, in certain circles. Good luck and please keep us posted...it will all settle out somehow...it always does.

                Hi Buddy,
Just love it. It has lovely style and form and is beautifully finished. The subtle colour changes in the wood assist to enhance the piece nicely. Anyone would be happy to hang that piece on their wall. Very well done!!!!!!
