  • Well, didn't make it to the in-round carving--yet

When I got through with the great-granddaughter plaque, I thought I would be going to the in-round carving I've been wanting to do∙∙∙∙∙but low and behold a strange message showed up in my email, no comments just a picture.

6-1/2 x 4 x 3/4" basswood, base stained with tannins solution, object with mineral spirits, BLO & ochre oil paint, heart paint with acrylic, after drying for two days, got three coats of clear acrylic spray.

Almost no curvature to the grain must have been a big tree cut from the outer part,
any C&C's are welcome, I was surprised that I didn't break something

Now that is a very as Merle said Unique item. I found another kind of similar to that one, but this is a beauty. I agree with Merle.. A hanger.

Merle, Chuck, that you. This one isn't a hanger but a sitter. When I cot it finished Pam was taking a little beauty nap and I set on the coffee table in from of her so when she woke she would see. Good results

            Hi Joe
Looks good Mate. It kind of reminds me of the mask in the phantom of the opera. Nice valentines day piece.

Joe, Thank You, hadn't thought about that just answering an anonymous email

Glenn, Thank You, aye, kind of though that too

Bill, Thank You, I believe the flow gives it a kind of warmth ???

Ed, Thank You, It was, but as I said a request

                        Herb, Thank You

                        Chuck, Thank You

                        Di, Thank You

It definitely was something different for me. Wasn't able to get as clear factual features as I would have liked .

Thank you all for your gracious reply
