  • Japanese Noh Mask

I finished carving this October last year. Final paint today.

Painting it to appear traditional has been extremely difficult. If anyone knows someone that I could talk with regarding this topic, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for taking a look.

For what appears to be a simple carving, I would bet it is hard to get accomplished

Well done, Scott. What type of wood, and what tools did you use to hollow it out?

        Thanks Arthur,

        Basswood.

Straight and bent gouges for the hollowing. like these in the pic.

I'm impressed! Great job! May I suggest a trip to YouTube land. In lieu of a visit to Japan it might be a good second choice.
