My first repeat customer! It feels a bit childish but I’m kind of excited about it. I do apologize this may get a bit lengthy.
A couple years ago a woman named Shay joined our forum for the purpose of solicitation, but not in streetwalker way. She was looking for someone to carve a version of the goddess Asherah as a gift for her “Old Hippie” mother. It was my first commissioned piece and a fireworks moment for me. Well struggling with how the first version based on the customer’s reference photo looked I submitted an alternate design Asherah 2.0 that the customer agreed to. So chucking 1.0 in the cutouts bucket the 2.0 was completed and shipped. Someone else saw 2.0 and wanted one so 3.0 was on the bench. Months latter when between project could not stop from digging 1.0 out and finishing it. 1.0 went on eBay and sold fairly quickly.
Well the other day the there is a message from the eBay customer asking if I actually carved the piece or just sold it. Anyway she wants two more Asherahs. Not wanting to again carve something I didn’t care for sketched up a new version and we agreed on a price.
