Wow, that is generous of you. Your students are lucky.

It was interesting teaching that first class the club has probably 30 gouges that we make available to new carvers. But I had not realized that most are small very few more than 1/4” wide. It caused great disparity in their opportunities to complete their projects.

Hi Ed, thanks a lot of posting together. All Asheras and all different...so great carving!! That you bought gouges for your students is very generous, they will appreciate.

You keep carving those things pretty soon you will be able to whip them out in no time. The thing is if you carved the hat, you would be crawling around looking for broken pieces like the rest of us...just joking. Glad your classes are thriving and getting better and now you have the tools to show them what sharp is, ... I am sure you are proud. I like the one with her hands down, shows a good-shaped bust line.

DiLeon I’m glad you like that one it is different because it was made from a piece of scrap wood and there wasn’t enough wood for the crossed arms. The classic ancient Asherah sculpture is kind of phallic with breasts. IMO

Yea I noticed that one.... plus sized with a big D-size bust line. Rolling on the floor laughing. I think the one with arms down is a bit more graceful.
