I decided to try a relief carving for my next, offering to the silent auction for the Christopher Foundation event at our church. I still have a little clean up work, but it’s pretty close. I think I will end up finishing the Winnie the Pooh and giving it to my granddaughter.

Cadn24 - When I first looked at the photos, I thought there was a curved part below the low wall holding the stone. I thought, "Is that a pit that kept the stone in place in front of the tomb." On closer look I realized it was your glove.
When I read "First Relief Carving," it brings back memories. The photo below was mine, a gift to my girlfriend 73 years ago! We were married 70 years ago this very month.

I am so sorry. I hope you cherish those memories. 44 years is still a blessing

I finished this piece last night. I stained this one using Minwax pre-stain and liquid stain/poly. In general, I am happy with it. Also I have attached the flier for the event I am making this for if anyone is interested. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

Here are the finished pieces that went to the fundraiser at church. The next one is a new one that was requested by a friend who missed the bid on the first relief carving. I used a wood burner to accent the outlines. You do not have permission to view this gallery.
