        Patrick, you have once again, inspired me to try something new. I have a lot of posts in my new house going up the stairs and a handrail with more posts at the top. A gargoyle would look terrific on top of one of them. I had thought about birds and owls, so maybe a gargoyle can be a good compliment to them. I only wish mine would be as fine as the one you are carving.
        You are doing a brilliant job on him and I will be watching for the updates.

          He looks a handsome fella Pat! I wouldnt mind doing a big one of those with m' chainsaw, one of those would look good in the Black Forest in Germany, I will be carving there this year.........

            Thank you Thor and Dick. Thor, there are other gargoyle styles I would like to try. Some other carvers in our area are carving a totally different looking gargoyles with many of them holding sheild in the front...perhaps for a family crest. Please post if you plan on carving one to be part of your new house - they are good luck you know.
            Dick, I'd love to try a large one with a chainsaw as there are a few posted in the gallery. If you get around to trying one, please let us have a look at it.
