figured amboyna burl leaf

Hi everyone,
I got some figured amboyna burl knife scales from ebay. I started with the first image and was completely unsatisfied. I decided to try and give it some curves. I cut it with my dremel and sanded it down to 600 grit. It is closer to what I envisioned, but I think I could do it better next time. I haven't put a finish on it yet, just rubbed it with my fingers.

I like what you've done here and before. Your work is very neat and precise. What kind of finish are you planning on applying?

I'm not sure what I'll finish it with, something shiny I think. I may try buffing it first.

I finished this with several coats of varathane. On to the next one!
