Very very nice carving, love the coloring process you have developed too, I'm going to try it on one of my pieces coming up.

Have a question about the sharpie, please explain to "oil first". do you mean to oil the section of wood first prior to usingthe sharpie?

Hi Bill!
I rub an olive oil into the piece AFTER I sharpie it. This really helps and then the Sharpies do not run when you ad your poly.

wow! this is probably my favourite piece by you! It would have broken my own heart to part with it so to save your own you'd better carve another quick and make a tutorial to show us all how!

Hey Keoma I hope you do a tutorial, my mother is getting more interested in carving and would love to try some of your hair sticks. I also seen the pics of your dolls they are just awsome. Did the person who bought this recive it yet? what did they think of it in person I bet they loved it even more then from the pics.

She adored it as a matter of fact! Sent me appreciation photos and everything. It looks wonderful in her deep chocolate hair! Much better in hers than mine, so I am glad I sent it off. Thanx for the comment about my dolls, they are my passion! I have made quite a few now and I still love each one! My favorite being the small jointed waitress. Not sure if I posted her, but anyway, it's late and I am rambling! Started the sketch for the tutorial, will post it in the a.m. Your mom can follow along step by step maybe?

Yeah she should be able to figure it out, been trying to get her to make her own WCI account lol. But I guess it is easier if I do all the searching for her, I will also help her along with it. Not sure if I posted pics of the santa ornament she did last year, I started to teach her faces. Glad she liked the Dragon Breath, it turned out great.

keoma, i just found now your thread, oh am i glad i not missed it completely... what a great design !!! the lines and curves play so nicely together, and the color harmony is striking. also love the freshness of the design, mixing elements from different styles...and a great execution adds to all that, definitely one of my favourite piece of you, so far. well done !! looking forward to see more ideas of you :-)

Pastels work also. Just put on and then spray with clear coat.

Thank you both very much! I have never used pastels, but would if I had them The food coloring came about because I had nothing else. Now thats all I use.
