Love both of them! The colors are great on the box bed. Linseed oil kind of makes me gag to smell it. Good idea mixing oil paints with the minwax.

I'm being asked about the finish and paint I'm using so here are some more photos of the details. I'm not a painter, but this works well for me.

These panels are finished now, and I am moving on to the others. After this weekend, I'll put these in place in the box beds, and hopefully, get the vertical carvings started next week.

Thanks for all of the feedback. Because of some good constructive comments, I changed the composition of the tree branches, and switched the paint/stain colors, made some of the colors more vibrant, and used a bit more details in places.

Great job Thor. The color is just right, enough to accent the piece and tell the story, and subdue'd enough not to keep you awake at night! Well done.
