  • Hunting pirates 2009

Some of you may remember the piece I carved, "Hunting Pirates 1809", well I finally completed the companion piece, "Hunting Pirates 2009".

The scene is of H.M.C.S. Winnipeg attacking and arresting a boat load of Somali pirates who had just tried to take a merchantship and were forced to run for it when the Canadian warship showed up. The scene is carved in Basswood and measures 15" x 10".

Well done lads aboard "the Peg!"

Before they slip me over the standing part of the fore sheet, let them pipe: "Up Spirits" one more time.

Wow, can you imagine being a pirate and seeing that ship bearing down on you?

Good work Bob! I love the way you have the sea spraying away from the ship.

Living in Victoria and often having lunch at the Chiefs & P.O's Mess, you did a great job on the Winnipeg all of the personnel posted on her and at the base would appreciate this carving. Great carving.

                Bob,
Another great peice. I especially like it when the good guys win. That doesn't seem to happen enough these days.

                Safe Carving and God Bless,
