    Yet another beautiful piece you've done. He looks just great! Did you use power- or mallet tools on him?

        Hi Merle, man these things are fun, thank you for the kind words.

        Hey Mark,A mallet and 1" Flexcut chisel was used first to hog off the big stuff and then rough shaping was done with a flexshaft power carver with a coarse sanding drum, the dimples in the head band were done with a small coarse sphere bit and in a few tight spots I used a long slender diamond carver burr but By far most of the carving was done with a thin blade detail knife and Dockyard Micro Gouge's.

        Thanks Tony, I've sketched out a few more ducks and can't wait to get to them but I've got to finish these two girls first. I just finished sanding the red cedar on the Eve bust and I walked her through all the grits up to 1500 and man did that really make the color POP!
