The butternut makes it so much nicer basswood would not look nearly as good.

Pretty cool wizard! I've seen a lot of variability in the hardness of butternut. Some is a lot easier to carve than others.

Awesome,as usual Mark ! So if i carve one of these and put it on my 'puter,will it make me better on my p.c. ? lol( I need all the help I can get ).
Butternut carves much better than using an axe on my modem,monitor and keyboard, "long live the elf,whatever he sits on !".
