Mirror

Attached (hopefully) are a couple of pictures of a mirror I just completed. It has a Newport Shell design on top. The wood is khana, which is from somewhere in Africa, and behaves mahogany-like. The wood is kind of orange-y/tan to begin with and it was stained with a red mahogany stain, then wax rubbed and buffed over it.

The pattern for this came from the Summer 2009 issue of <some other carving magazine>.

I read that article too, and set the pattern aside in my "to do" pile. You've really done an admirable job. The wood is beautiful!

Thanks for the nice words. The carving itself was actually quite easy. I'd say sanding took the most time on this project...
