  • Finally finished! Black Crowned Night Heron

Night Heron is carved from tupelo, and painted with acrylics, and sprayed with a matt finish. The driftwood is from the banks of Mississippe River, not sure what type of wood it is, I just liked the shape. It's finished with two coats of Cabot Sand and Seal, followed by two coatsof Cabot Satin Polyurethane.Draped with Spanish Moss.
This was my first time at making my own legs and feet, from copper wireand Quikwood putty. What a channenge!
I love doing the carvingand finding driftwood, but it's my wife who brings this wood to life with her painting. Thanks for viewing, and please comment.
