started another tree carving and have ben working on it for several days, but still have little to show for it. You see, my chainsaw broke and now I'm left with roughing it completely out with only chisels. It's taking longer than I had hoped, but I figured I'd bring you along for the ride...It is a work in progress after all..... Enjoy, and feel free to leave comments on the blog.

This is day three...hey! The face is finally taking shape! as well as the cat on the shoulder. ( yes, it's suppose to be a cat...not a bear) come visit and feel free to leave a comment.

Day 4 after a short break of a couple of days, I worked on the head some more and the cat. Even her hair is coming along! Check it out on the blog...The Midnight Carver

Tonight I worked on the ears for a bit. With the help of the cat. I think they turned out pretty good, but daylight was fading fast and it was getting cold. More pics at my blog

Very cool carving and I looked at your blog liked it to. That looks like red oak its good for bold stylized carvings. I know gouges are not as fast as a chainsaw for roughing. But you got admit they do feel right and leave a nice finish.

Day 9 of the carving, She is finally looking more human than tree. And I was able to move her inside so now I can finally work in a better lit environment
