Hi Charlotte, thank you for your prayers and wonderful comment.

Here is my last update for a little while.

I've been working each day on the various area's and still seems I have a long way to go...at least till the end of the year anyway...lol

I've done quite a bit of work on her face, hand forming no finger detail yet. I wish I hadn't cut her bangs so short...what was I thinking or not thinking!

I do have a question for you all..I'm including an image of the back of the skirt. See the natural spoon shape on the right side. Should I carve to raise it out from the skirt or leave it flat to the skirt? I had thought it might be neat to add interest.

Be back after I get home from the hospital, thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.

            Hugs,
            Kathy

I vote to raise it to add interest. Maybe tie the "spoon" handle to the belt somehow.

She is really beautiful Kathy. Today is the 28th and I am sending up some prayers for you. May God bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and bring you peace. I pray that the surgeon's hands will be guided by The Great Physician, and that your recovery will be swift and complete.

                  Hi, All

I'm home and doing really well have to take it easy for a while.

Thank you, Joggnernot yes I like the idea of raising the spoon too and I have enough wood I can make a wrap around the belt. Good idea...

Hi Phil, thank you for the prayer everyone has been so wonderful I feel very lucky.

                  Kathy

Beautiful carving work! I agree about the spoon...would be hard to resist raising it a tad and it would add a lot more body shape and detail to the back of the girl.

Hope you're back at it soon!

                          Take Care,
                          Jim

Be careful working around the spoon shape. It could be easy to distort or lose the natural spoon shape if you round it too much.

But it would be neat to have it raised.

Glad that you out of the hospital and on the rcovery road. Love the progress on the young lady. My vote to relief the spoon some. What a neat flaw in the wood. Carve on.
