You're farther ahead than I am Ash. I have a Santa drawn out on a piece of butternut but I need it roughed out and my band saw is too small. I still have two months left so perhaps I'll be finished before Christmas. Yours are turning out very well.

Looking really good Garry, now thanks to you and Goody I will be carving up a storm pretty soon. BTW Garry sent me one of his carvings, just got in from my grandsons hockey game I will post pictures of it later along with one I purchased from Goody both are excellent Santa's. Sorry but its too late tonight this old man needs his rest.

Hello Ashbys,
love the santas in the works... that over hanging hood is wonderful and I am sure, difficult to get under to work on the face. It will be great when you finish it. Will you post progressive photos as you go? I do hope so. I can't wait to see more.....
Thanks all ,
The hooded Santa is for a client in Pa. It was cut from her white pine Christmas tree from last year. If you look close you will see 2009 in the robe.
Susie ,
Work in process goes fast , this is the brownish Santa . It is carved in Spanish cedar.
So the update pics =) .
I too really like the hood/cowl and the way you carved the folds...very nice indeed! Yep! It's certainly 'that' time of year, looks like everyone is gearing up for the Holiday Season including me...fun, fun, fun! Again, great carving and be sure and post a few photos of them when you finish with them. Continued carving to you!
