Still need to build a base.The sculpture has a sort of whimsical Garden of Eden theme.Built with lilac, contorted filbert, and walnut (apple). Sign is pine with redwood frame. Thanks for looking! Mark

Thanks everyone, for the kind remarks! I use the board as a sort of gauge to determine how successful a carving is. By the the time I finish one I am sick of looking at it! A warm response tells me I did something right, a tepid response motivates me to try harder. Either way Thankyou. Mark

I was wonderng what you used for the sign? Also, what did you use for finish on the sign as well as the stand?

I've tried this a couple of times and am still not altogether happy with the finish. Always looking for a better idea.

That is outstanding Mark. I mean like outstanding in the garden.

Beautiful carving, and fantastic paint work on the apple. Nobody will see your garden, as they will be looking at the sign.

Thanks Tom and Josef! Bob the sign is pine one and a half inches thick. Routed the letters and outline of the flowers and then carved in the details on the flowers, frame is redwood. I used 3 coats of spar varnish satin finish. Mark
